6th Week

I have talked to my boss and sorted out extra hours, so hopefully i wont have to limit myself to 13 euro a week for too long, not that i was successful in terms of saving. Ive been waiting for a certain ps3 game to come out for years and it came out on friday, even though i cant really afford to get anymore games, i was so bored during the wet eventless weekend that i jus ran down to extra vision and picked up the ultimate cure for bordem! another 50 euro down the drain. Well at least i got double pay for working on bank holiday monday!

5th Week

im getting really close to bankrupcy, after a disasterous week in financial terms i have just a couple of hundred in the bank. I set out last week to save money and stick to a budget, i was breaking the budget here and there and it turns out i saved no money. I Have made a proper budget which is much more strict and hopefully i can save a bit more money this time around. spending my money on mostly soup and credit ive managed to set a plan where i spent about 13 euro a week to survive. I got my parents to pay for transport (montly bus pass), ill have a packed lunch and ill buy soup the odd day, no snacks, no going out for the next couple of week, thats right im gunna be a boring basterd for the next month or so, but then again i would prefer to be boring the in debt. Hopefully ill get more hours at work and ill be able to enjoy life a bit more but for now its cold turkey till i get some more cash....

4th Week

Im really starting to notice how much money im spending now and i plan to economise and even make a budget as i am spending about 3-4 times the amount i earn a week, i think i might get more hours too as i currently only do 7 hours a week with relatively low pay. NO MORE DINNERS! the canteen food here isnt too expensive but i really gotta lay off the full meals because that and transport are the main contributers to the drainage of my hard earned cash! planning to get a bus pass and go out on the town less often, hopefully i can stick to my word and i wont be broke by next monday!!

3rd week

Spending much more time around CIT now that most of the clubs and societies are started up, finding it hard to balance socialising and leisure time with study time, theres just too much going on! I Made some pretty decent alice cartoons, at this stage alice is definitly my favorite subject because its the most creative and easy-going. Sadly on the other hand im starting to notice my interest going in a downward spiral for some of the subjects, like computer architecture. Theres relly just too much stuff too know, like "cache" and "virtual memory" and i cant seem to visualise how these things all work together. Basically it started out too complex for me so at this stage im struggling to keep up!

1st Week

(This is in the wrong order because a mistake was made when posting the 1st time)

Getting comfortable with the area and settling into college life. So Far, besides from transport issues, everything has been going smoothly! Signed up for Bank of Ireland and got a free flight voucher, I plan on using this to go to Amsterdam with my friends either during the Christmas break or summer, I cant wait!!! Havent been learning much In the lectures and labs so far because were having much technical issues getting people's logins working, i expected more from an institute of technology!

2nd Week

Moving at a slow pace in-class, but im starting to get intrested in programming and algorithmic problem solving, which go hand-in-hand. I thought algorithmic problems would involve heavy use of maths but at this stage its actually quite intresting and fun as it mainly involves using a programmer's learning tool called alice. Alice teachs programming in a 3d environment where you can design cartoons or games via a basic programming language. I mainly enjoy it because of the creativity involved!
